Riwal made the winning bid for the 100000th telehandler to be produced by JLG.

The Netherlands-based rental company cast the bid for €88000 during a charity auction in Seville, Spain on 9 December. JLG said €50000 of the proceeds will go to the Alpe d’HuZes foundation, at the request of Riwal.

“At Riwal we are proud to be part of such a meaningful industry event,” said Norty Turner, CEO of Riwal. “We have been providing JLG telehandlers for our customers for many years, and to be the winning bidder on the 100000 telehandler with all of the proceeds to the charities of our choice is truly inspiring.”

Since it was unveiled in April at Intermat Paris 2015, the 100,000 JLG telehandler, a 4017RS sporting a custom colour scheme comprised of 100000 small JLG logos has toured Europe, traveling to JLG sites to thank employees for their contribution to JLG’s success. In addition, the machine has been available to European customers interested in sales demonstrations.

The invitation-only dinner at Hotel Alfonso XIII in Seville capped off a two-day event celebrating the production of the 100000 telehandler. JLG President Frank Nerenhausen joined JLG customers for the dinner.

“We’re excited to mark this significant milestone with the commemorative JLG telehandler,” said Nerenhausen. “We’re also happy to use the occasion to recognise the loyalty of our customers and thank them for their business. Without them, we could not have achieved this milestone and the success it represents.”

Customers who attended the JLG event also enjoyed a range of activities, including a tour of Seville, local taverns, and the Royal Equestrian School. Sponsors of the event included gold sponsors SIAC and Accella Tyre Fill and silver sponsors Deutz Corporation USA, OTR Blackstone, and SISA.
