Romanian motorway tenders expected

20 August 2013

Tenders for new sections of motorway are to be organised by Romania’s state-controlled road administrator, the National Company for Motorways & National Roads (CNADNR), in the next few months, according to research company PMR.

One of the tenders expected to be announced in the near future is for the construction of the 70km Sebes to Turda motorway, which is expected by the CNADNR to have a budget of approximately €554 million.

Tenders for three other sections of motorway – Craiova to Pitesti, Comarnic to Brasov and the Bucharest bypass – are also to be organised in 2013.

The winning bidders in all these tenders are expected to be announced by the end of this year.

According to CNADNR estimates, the 10 largest motorway construction sites in Romania, a total of 250km, are currently about 70% complete.
