Sales up at Budimex

Sales were up in 2014 for Polish contractor Budimex, although group operating profit fell compared to the previous year.

Budimex, which is owned by Spanish multinational Ferrovial, reported net revenues from sales of products, services, goods and materials in the construction segment of PLN4.72 billion (€1.13 billion), as compared to PLN4.14 billion (€990.54 million) in 2013.

Its 2014 operating profit of PLN247.32 million (€59.13 million) across the group, with PLN196.38 million (€46.96 million) of that from construction, compared with 2013 figures of PLN333.31 million (€79.75 million) for the group, and PLN136.26 million (€32.61 million) for construction.

Budimex said that at the end of 2014, its group order portfolio amounted to PLN6.1 billion (€1.46 billion).
