The Star Development will comprise residential, shopping and entertainment facilities in a complex including three 250 m+ towers

Samsung C&T has started work on the Star Development in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The US$ 310 million project for Alpine Return, a joint venture between United Malayan Land and Symphony Life, will comprise residential, shopping and entertainment facilities in a complex including three 250 m+ towers.

Once completed, the single 57-floor, 251 m tower and two 58-floor, 265 m towers will be among the tallest residential structures in the company. They will be built in Kuala Lumpur’s business district, near the Petronas Towers, which Samsung C&T was also involved in building.

Samsung C&T president & CEO Chi Hun Choi said, “We are honored to be part of the Star Development project. We look forward to continuing our support for Malaysia’s growth and development, having participated in large scale projects including Petronas Twin Towers. Though challenging, we are certain that by working closely together with our trusted partners and maintaining a strong emphasis on safety, the project will be successful.”

Tan Sri Azman Yahya, executive chairman of Symphony Life, said “We are pleased to entrust our ambitious project, Star Development to Samsung C&T for its outstanding project delivery record of core competencies and skyscraper expertise in major cities around the world.”

Construction work began on November 7 and is expected to be completed in 2019.
