Scaffold for success

German scaffold system manufacturer Layher has produced a map to take visitors on a tour of all its new developments.

Managing partner Carolin Langer said of the driving principals behind Layher's development strategy, "Our aims are to improve safety, service and the success of our customers."

Among the new products is the Allround bridging system, which is a modular design for use with Layher's Allround scaffolding. The bridge can be up to 30 m long and is available in 2.07 m and 2.57 m widths. It can be craned into position and is suitable for applications such as pedestrian walkways and access.

Layher has produced a glass fibre and polypropelene deck which customers can use to replace the plywood decks on the N-decks, they will not rot or splinter and have a non slip surface.

In the Speedyscaf range Layher has reduced the weight of its Euro Assembly 1.09 m frames by 3.5 kg. The weight reduction has been achieved by using a higher grade steel which has allowed th walls of the tube to be reduced from 3.2 mm to 2.7 mm. Technical specialist Harold Ilg sid that the development would be intergrated into other products in the range.
