Schmidbauer adds Groves
06 February 2014
The Schmidbauer Group, based in Germany, has added two Grove all terrain cranes to its fleet.
The order was for a 300 tonne capacity GMK6300L and 100 tonne capacity GMK4100L. The GMK6300L has a seven-section, 80 m boom. The four-axle GMK 4100L has a 60 m boom, which can be extended to 77 m with a jib. Both cranes were delivered during the end of 2013.
Werner Schmidbauer, CEO, said, “Our two new cranes feature aluminium wheels, which means we can travel to job sites with more equipment and counterweight, saving time and hassle.”
Once delivered to Schmidbauer, the GMK4100L was sent to a paper mill in Plattling, Germany. The all terrain was used to remove an antenna from a silo. It was configured with a 60 m boom and 6.3 tonnes of counterweight.
Both cranes were delivered at the end of 2013. They join a fleet of 250 mobile cranes, ranging in capacities up to 1,250 tonnes.
