Shortlists announced for the 2013 European Rental Awards

The shortlists for the 2013 European Rental Awards have been finalised at the judges meeting in Paris on 12 February.

The shortlists are as follows:

Large Rental Company of the Year (turnover >€15m)

• VP plc (UK)

Small Rental Company of the Year (turnover <€15m)

• Dromad Hire (Republic of Ireland)
• GGR (UK)
• Industrial Access (Romania)
• Italnolo (Italy)
• Storent (Latvia)

Rental Product of the Year 2012

• El Bjorn - TF 50 Fan Dryer (Sweden)
• Haulotte - HT23 RTJ boom (France)
• Himoinsa - Power Cube Generator (Spain)
• Husqvarna - K760 Oil Guard (Sweden)
• Off Grid Energy - Grid to Go Generator (UK)

Rental person of the Year

Lifetime Achievement Award

• To be announced on the night.

The judges said they were heartened to see that even in the tough business environment of 2012 "many rental companies were remaining positive and finding new ways of growing their businesses, through product and market diversification or simply by being imaginative.

"In the product of the year category we saw real evidence of innovation and a drive to develop products that are tailored to the needs of rental companies. Small manufacturers, facing uncertain market conditions, are being especially creative.”

The winners will be announced at the special awards dinner in Paris on 15 May 2013, during the European Rental Association’s (ERA) annual convention. The venue for the dinner is the Hotel Concorde La Fayette, Paris, next door to the Palais des Congrès de Paris, where the convention is being held.

The awards are a joint venture between the ERA and International Rental News.
