The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Scaffold Industry Association (SIA) have developed MCWP - Fundamentals of Safe Use, Ground Conditions and MCWP - Fundamentals of Safe Use, Tying to the Structure.

This series of tools are designed to assist in the daily inspections on mast climbing equipment, the SIA said.

"The publication of these Fundamentals of Safe Use is a significant step forward in the industry's goal of getting crucial safety information into the hands of the person who requires it most, the worker. The OSHA Alliance process is an essential component of industry outreach, and the SIA's Alliance program has produced a substantial amount of quality safety information in a short period of time. The mast climber industry can only benefit from this process, there is no down side to prevention of accidents, and credit must go to both the SIA and OSHA's Alliance team, who have combined to produce a concise and productive process," said Kevin O'Shea, SIA Mast Climbing Council Chair.

The series is available to download for free on the SIA's website.
