Canadian contractor SNC-Lavalin has appointed Dr Hisham Mahmoud to the newly created role of group president of infrastructure. He will assume his new role in early 2014.

Dr Mahmoud will oversee all global infrastructure and related businesses, including transportation and operations & maintenance.

Dr Mahmoud brings to SNC-Lavalin more than 23 years of experience with multinational engineering and construction companies. Prior to his new appointment, Dr. Mahmoud served at AMEC as group president, growth regions, and as president, environment & infrastructure.

He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from Qatar University, and a Masters degree and PhD in Civil Engineering, both from Arizona State University. He is a registered professional engineer in several US states.
