US-based United Rentals, the largest rental company in the world, has opened seven new speciality locations in the US.

The company said its new Trench Safety branches in San Diego, California, and Columbia, South Carolina, would provide engineered excavation support and confined space entry systems, as well as worker training.

And it said the new United Rentals Pump Solutions branches in Nashville, Tennessee, and Savage, Minnesota, would provide fluid transfer solutions ranging from high volume, high pressure pumps to small, portable units and custom fabrication.

Meanwhile, United Rentals said its new Tool Solutions branches in San Antonio, Texas, and Oakdale, Minnesota, would provide temporary and long-term onsite tool management and maintenance.

Also in Oakdale, Minnesota, is a new United Rentals Power & HVAC branch in Oakdale, which the company said would provide engineered solutions for temporary power, heating, cooling and ventilation, as well as disaster recovery services.

First phase

Paul McDonnell, United Rentals senior vice president of specialty operations, said, "Our latest US expansion is the first phase of at least 14 new specialty locations planned for this year.

“These offerings are fundamentally important to our company’s strategy, both in terms of profitable growth and service to customers. Demand for our specialty range is growing, and we will continue to invest accordingly.”

United Rentals boasts 897 rental branches in the United States and Canada.
