Mini crawler crane specialist Unic Cranes Europe - part of the GGR Group - has a new partnership that will see its equipment used in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
The Unic URW 547 spider crane, which can lift up to four tonnes but has a total stowing width of just 1.4 metres, is being made available on the French island of Reunion through local company DMP, which is part of the Groupe de Courcy.
It’s the first time Unic Cranes Europe’s equipment has been used on the island, and the company is confident it will be the start of a successful partnership.
Jeanine De Cock, Unic Cranes Europe sales manager, said, “We’re extremely pleased to have secured this partnership with DMP to provide the UNIC URW 547 spider crane for hire in Reunion. The Unic URW 547 is a fantastic piece of equipment in that it is small and convenient to store and work with, but can handle heavy loads. It has been used in a range of situations, from scaling the heights of Snezka Mountain in the Czech Republic to help build a new aerial cableway terminal to installing a memorial to Bomber Command at Beachy Head in Eastbourne.”
The URW 547 is currently being used for constructing electricity pylons, the company said.
