The Star entertainment complex in Sydney, Australia has purchased a Traccess 170E from Platform Sales, the Australian dealer of Italian equipment manufacturer CTE.

The Star, which consists of two hotels, restaurants and cafes, and a rooftop events and entertainment centre, will use the Traccess platform for essential maintenance work.

The Traccess 170E was chosen because of its Lithium power source. The platform has to be driven through indoor spaces and trailing a power source or using a petrol driven engine was not an option. The 17 m working height is also perfect for reaching the ceilings in the new events centre, which is capable of holding 4000 people.

The Traccess 170E also offers an outreach of 7.5 m and a loading capacity of 200 kg. Its small dimensions, 78 cm width and 1.99 m height, mean it can pass through internal doors while its Z-shape boom means the machine has zero tailswing.
