Syria clean up expert to speak at WDS 2017
29 March 2017
A speaker with more than 20 years’ experience of debris management in areas affected by conflict and disaster is the latest addition to this year's World Demolition Summit.
Martin Bjerregaard of Disaster Waste Recovery will give a presentation on the clean up operation in Syria to delegates at the event in London on November 2.
Martin has been working in the war-torn country since 2014.
His company, which provides waste management support to communities in stricken areas, has been compiling a study for the World Bank to determine what it will take to manage the debris in the cities of Aleppo and Homs.
However, his overall experience goes back to 1995 and has been applied throughout the world.
Aside from his role as the founding director of Disaster Waste Recovery, Martin is a member of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management and the Institute of Demolition Engineers.
The World Demolition Summit is organised by Demolition & Recycling International magazine in co-operation with the European Demolition Association. The headline sponsor is Volvo Construction Equipment.
