Crane manufacturer Tadano has acquired US-based SpanDeck, owner of crawler crane manufacturer Mantis.

The deal reflects Japan-based Tadano's plans to expand its lifting equipment functions. "We aim to expand our business in the field of lifting equipment to further expand our business in this domain."

Mantis' net assets are worth US$22.989 million, according to Tadano, which bough the company for $37.5 million. Tadano added that the US company's production experience would be of great benefit to the group.
