Mobile crane manufacturer Tadano Faun this week launches a range-topping six-axle all terrain crane.

On 27 May the 400 tonne capacity class crane, pictured, will be unveiled at a Crane Day launch event at the factory in Lauf an der Pegnitz near Nuremberg, Germany. Product presentations and factory tours will be on offer for existing and potential customers of the Japanese-owned manufacturer.

In future all research and development, design and production of all terrain cranes will be done in Germany. For rough terrain cranes this work will be done in Japan and for crawler cranes it will be done in the USA, Tadano said.

Tadano Faun showed a prototype six axle all terrain crane, the ATF 360G-6, at the April 2007 Bauma exhibition in Munich, Germany. It was mounted with a four section telescopic hydraulic luffing jib attachment on the end of the 60 metre boom.

Deliveries of the new crane are due to start in the fourth quarter of 2011.
