Terex acquires Platform Service & Repair

03 October 2016

Manufacturer Terex has acquired UK-based access maintenance, repair and refurbishment specialist Platform Service & Repair (PSR) from IAPS group. PSR was already an authorised service provider of Terex’s Genie brand of aerial work platforms.

“In a year that marks 50 years of the Genie brand ‘building the future,’ we are proud to provide our UK customers with an ideal combination of resources in a one-stop-shop,” said Matt Skipworth, EMEAR Service Solutions Manager for Terex Aerial Work Platforms.

“By responding to the needs of our customers, we have further enhanced our ability to provide them with the solutions they require. This, in addition, will help us win in the marketplace.

“Backed by a successful 15-year history of delivering service support to customers throughout the UK, PSR brings together the expert technical skills required to maintain virtually any brand of powered access equipment.”

Mr Skipworth added that PSR also provided broad geographical coverage end users and rental companies needed to support their machine uptime in the field.

“Our new UK customer support organisation will offer the notable advantages of enhancing the efficiency of fleet maintenance and simplifying procedures to help save time and reduce costs,” he said.

Terex said it would continue to honour all existing PSR contracts for maintenance, inspection, breakdown repair and engineer cover.

It said all current PSR employees would transfer to the Terex Genie UK team, including the mobile service engineers, workshop-based repair and refurbishment technicians, customer service personnel, and management team.

Steve Couling, managing director of IAPS Group, said, “The Genie UK team are retaining the PSR team’s expertise in customer care. This means that existing PSR customers should have complete confidence that they are in safe hands.”
