Terex Cranes enjoys order run

Terex Cranes has announced a number of new order wins across France, Croatia and Poland.

First, from leading French crane rental company, Mediaco, comes an order for 25 new Demag all terrain cranes. The order comprises 20 AC 55-3 models, two AC 100-4 models, two AC 160-5 models and one AC 130-5.

The AC 55-3 was recently added to the Demag product offering and has the latest industry advancements to increase productivity and reduce operating costs, Terex said. The cranes have an automated counterweight rigging system for easy and fast setup, one engine that minimises operational and maintenance costs, and Terex’s IC-1 Plus control system that calculates lifting capacities for every position of the crane’s boom subject to the slewing angle of the superstructure. The company claimed that these innovations help make the Demag 3-axle cranes a one-person operation.

“We are delighted to resume our business with Terex Cranes,” said Alexandre Vernazza, Mediaco president. “We have known Steve Filipov for a while and have always trusted him. The fact that he is back at the head of Terex Cranes made us feel confident that we can sign this new order.” The new purchases join Mediaco’s existing fleet of more than 600 cranes.

From Croatia-based transportation and over-sized cargo specialist, Zagrebtrans, was an order for a new Demag AC 500-8 all terrain and a new 650 tonne capacity Demag CC 3800-1 lattice boom crawler crane. Terex said the new Demag crawler crane would make its debut in Pula, a seafront city on the tip of Croatia’s Istrian Peninsula, in April, to perform a 400 tonne lift.

Finally, Polish crane company Baran ordered two Demag CC 3800-1s. The new cranes join a fleet of 11 Terex and Demag cranes, including several crawler cranes.
