In the USA Terex Cranes has launched the Crossover 4500, a 45 US ton (41 tonne) capacity boom truck.

It uses the upper structure from the T340-1XL telescopic truck crane and offers the same load ratings in most lift situations, irrespective of whether it is lifting from the front, rear or side. Like the larger Crossover 6000 the new model has X-pattern outriggers, a design that also lowers the centre of gravity and isolates the upper crane structure from the truck chassis.

The four-section 32 m boom offers a tip height of 33.5 m. Jibs are one at 9.8 m and an extendible one 9.8 to 14.9 m with 15 and 30 degree offset positions. One or two winches can be fitted, increasing flexibility to handle complex lifts.

Carrier length is reduced by nearly a metre because the outrigger design means that a front stabiliser is unnecessary. Outrigger span can be set at three positions (2 m, 5.5 m and 7.3 m) to help setup in confined space.
