Nine Terex CTT flat top tower cranes are being operated by tower crane rental and service provider LOGA at a site in France.

The site is for the One Nation Paris project, an outlet centre in Plaisir on the western outskirts of Paris. The centre covers 24,000 square metres and, on completion, will have 140 luxury branded home, sportswear and fashion clothing stores, four restaurants, a spa, and gardens under a glass-roofed canopy. Two of the levels will be underground.

The contractors are using 100% recycled materials, including glass, concrete, aluminium, steel and wood. For additional energy efficiency, a water loop will be used to heat the outlet’s stores and 14,000 square metres of solar panels will be installed on the roof of the building.

The main contractor for the site is construction company Spie SCGPM (Spie Batignolles Group).

The tower cranes on site include eight CTT 331-16T and one CTT 231-10T. The cranes will be used to lift and place 1,100 tonnes of steel and to pour 17,000 cubic metres of concrete for the construction of the building’s framework.

As the site is close to an airport, the cranes were erected between May and August 2012 and equipped with aircraft light signals. The cranes, which range from 28.4 to 50.2 m tall, have been erected freestanding on a base, or secured in concrete foundations.

The cranes have been configured with jibs ranging from 35 to 60 m long. Some of the heaviest lifts so far have included hoisting 15 m of pre-cast concrete segments weighing up to 9 tonnes each.

The centre is scheduled to open in October 2013.
