Top ten rental stories in 2008

By Murray Pollok06 January 2009

The ten most read rental stories posted on in 2008 reveal the impact of the credit crunch and worsening economic climate through the year.

Six of the top ten relate to the various actions taken by manufacturers and rental companies to adapt to the downturn: it is an unfortunate fact that that bad news travels fast. Other stories included important equipment-related news, including Gardner Denver's acquisition of CompAir and the proposed Bell Group/Altrad merger.

Most of the stories are from the second half of the year, reflecting both the timing of the credit crisis, and also the major redesign of the website in April which led to a vast increase in reader numbers from the summer onwards.
