Liebherr's vision for its future direction of tower crane design

Liebherr has a new design study for the future direction of tower crane design, IC exclusively reveals. A full size model (without jib or full counter jib) will be displayed at the Bauma construction equipment exhibition in Munich, Germany, from 11 to 17 April 2016.

A spokesperson at manufacturer Liebherr-Werk Biberach in Germany told IC that it “is a vision - how we could envisage a future tower crane.” The design is not confined to the hardware and its appearance. It would also include the software that would integrate with systems of building information modelling (BIM).

Liebherr is inviting feedback from customers and is encouraging them to examine the concept, in this case for the EC-B flat top series, during Bauma.
