Austrian construction contractor Alfred Trepka has taken delivery of an LTM 1130-5.1 wheeled mobile telescopic crane, the 1,000th of its kind from manufacturer Liebherr.

The 130 tonne capacity, 5 axle mobile crane will be the largest model in the Trepka fleet, based in Ober-Grafendorf in Lower Austria. It has a 60 metre telescopic boom.

Trepka has grown over three generations into a national construction contractor and manufacturer of prefabricated concrete components. It has been using its own mobile cranes for several years, all of which are Liebherrs. Existing units in the 50 and 90 tonne classes are reaching the limits of their capacity as components grow ever larger and heavier.

The company ordered the LTM 1130-5.1 the with VarioBase outrigger optimisation system to meet the increasing demand for lifting heavier components, Liebherr said.

Liebherr said it has delivered this model to customers in almost 70 countries. Germany has 180, there are 90 in the USA, followed by Australia, Canada and France with 50 units each, the manufacturer said. Smaller crane markets also operate the 130 tonne machine, including those in Angola, Ivory Coast, Colombia, Mauritania and Myanmar.
