Trojan strengthens Chinese presence

05 July 2010

The US company Trojan Battery Company, which specialises in deep cycle batteries, has announced new distribution agreements in China with Getz Bros Hong Kong Ltd, JSB Ltd, YHI Corporation (Beijing) Co, Ltd and ShangHai Link Trade Co Ltd. Each distributor will be responsible for overseeing the distribution and servicing of Trojan products in their assigned territories.

David Godber, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Trojan Battery said, "With many of our major OEM partners expanding their manufacturing facilities to China it makes sense for Trojan to strengthen its presence throughout China. Trojan's strategic new alliances in China will allow us to provide localised, dedicated sales and technical support services that our customers have come to expect from Trojan. Further, by expanding our distribution in China, Trojan can readily meet the demands of China's fast-growing new industries including golf, renewable energy, floor machine and aerial work platforms."

Emerson Fung, Trojan's director of sales, Asia-Pacific, who heads Trojan's Hong Kong sales branch, said, "The implementation of four distributors, with each distributor focusing on a smaller territory, makes Trojan products more readily available in China and allows us to respond faster to customer requests. Through an increase in sub-dealer network, Trojan can increase its business significantly throughout all of China."

Getz Bros Hong Kong Ltd, a subsidiary of the Getz Group with over 50 offices located worldwide, is a long-time Trojan Master Distributor for China whose expanded distribution territory now includes the provinces of Guangdong (excludes Hainan Island), Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou.

JSB Ltd (also doing business under ADJL International Ltd) located in Taiwan will oversee the provinces of Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi and Fujian.

YHI (Beijing) Co Ltd will handle distribution for the provinces of Beijing, Tianjin, Hainan Island, Hebei, Shandong, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Guilin, Shanxi and inner Mongolia.

ShangHai Link Trade Co Ltd, a company based in Shanghai, has newly joined Trojan's global network of master distributors and will oversee the provinces of Shanghai, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
