Australian lifting and transport specialist Tutt Bryant has followed its Think Big philosophy with its latest fleet addition.

The 1,600 tonne capacity Terex CC 8800-1 lattice boom crawler crane is the first of its kind in Australia and will operate as the largest conventional crawler crane based in the country, Tutt Bryant said. Its maximum load moment of 24,002 tonne-metres makes it a "game-changing addition to Tutt Bryant's extensive portfolio of cranes and heavy lifting equipment." The company said it offers efficiencies in the erection and installation of large-scale facilities when compared to ring lift cranes and jacking towers.

Final testing and the separate configuration builds are complete. The CC 8800-1 is ready for its first commissioning at BP Cracker in Western Australia. Rob West, Tutt Bryant Heavy Lift & Shift general manager, said, "We are very pleased to be in possession of Australia's first 1,600 tonne crawler crane. The arrival of the CC 8800-1 marks a new milestone for the Tutt Bryant Group and we look forward to providing more efficient and flexible solutions for our client's heavy lift & shift projects."
