Ultra-Deck debut in UK

Lifterz has become the first UK access rental company to invest in MEC’s new 6092RT Ultra-Deck scissor lift.
Malcolm Bowers, Chairman of Lifterz, said: “We are proud to be the first UK company to offer the unique MEC 6092RT for hire. It bridges the gap between the mainstream rough terrain scissors that only go up to 53 feet and the larger, heavy duty products from the likes of Holland Lift.”
The MEC 6092RT is an 18.2m (60ft) platform height rough terrain scissor with a 600kg lift capacity. Its dual Ultra Deck roll-out extensions provide an overall platform length of 7.5m. Standard features include MEC’s Quad-Trax true 4WD, active oscillating axle for rough terrain and auto-levelling outriggers for increased productivity. With a 2.34m wide chassis and a gross weight of 9200kg it is designed to be easy to transport - two machines fit on a single flatbed trailer.
Mr Bowers added: “The deck length of 7.5m and healthy lift capacity make this scissor lift an ideal ‘aerial workshop’ for our customers in the pipefitting and sprinkler installation industries. We will also be offering re-hire of these scissor lifts to other Access Link members throughout the UK.” Access Link is the UK’s largest network of independent powered access hire companies, with 38 depots.
APS, the exclusive UK distributor for MEC AWP, supplied the machines to Lifterz. The company already has a sizeable fleet of big deck scissor lifts and has purchased four MEC 6092RT Ultra-Decks to test market demand. Two have been in its fleet since April, with a further two arriving shortly from MEC’s factory in California.
Lifterz has a fleet of around 800 machines spread over its depots in Yorkshire, Lancashire and the East Midlands.
