The US Environmental Protection Agency has verified Nett Technologies’ new BlueMAX 300D Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system.

The BlueMAX 300D SCR is an emission control system that has been designed to reduce nitrogen oxides emissions from by at least 80% from medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines between 75 and 560 kW in portable and stationary applications, including diesel generator sets, pumps and compressors.

The SCR system is also said to reduce emissions of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons by at least 90% and particulate matter by at least 25%.

The preassembled unit is designed to fit ont ostationary engines and use an urea control strategy to react with emissions to create a cleaner airflow from the exhaust.

Canada-based Nett is an innovative emissions control company that specializes in the design, development and manufacture of pollution control solutions for compression and spark-ignited engines for both the OEM and retrofit markets.

Manufacturers of off-highway diesel engines are competing to come up with the most efficient ways of reducing exhaust emissions in line with new laws that come into force in the EU, Japan and the US from 2014. Components like SCR systems form part of the technology they are using.
