Transport company Van der Vlist has transported two rare Caterpillar construction machines from Belgium to the Netherlands.
The rare R2900 Caterpillars had previously been shipped from Melbourne, Australia to Antwerp in Belgium. From here Van der Vlist was tasked with transporting the mining machines to Terneuzen in the Netherlands.
The machines were loaded onto 5-axle semi-lowbed trailers pulled by 3-axle Van der Vlist tractor units. The machines measured 11.75 metres long, 3.32 m wide and 3 m high and weighed 57 tonnes each.
On arrival in Terneuzen the rare cargo was taken to the port and shipped to Pitea in Sweden, where they will be used for underground mining and tunnelling.
