Venue change for the Berlin demolition conference

24 May 2012

The Deutscher Abbruchverband has announced the dates for next year's Berlin demolition conference, one of the best attended events for the demolition industry that D&Ri regularly attends and reports on. In 2013, the event will be held over Friday 15 and Saturday 16 March.

The 2012 event proved to be a record-breaking one with more delegates and exhibitors that ever before. As a result of this success, and with even more exhibitors expected to be wishing for space to demonstrate their products to the more than 600 delegates that are expected next year, the event will move from its familiar venue of the Hotel Berlin.

The 2013 conference will therefore be held in the Hotel InterContinental Berlin in Budapester Strasse, which boasts an exhibition space of 2,550 square metres (27,447 square feet) that will meet this expected increase in demand. The Intercontinental also offers a theatre style meeting room with a maximum capacity of 1,500 that will easily accommodate the event (the conference room at the Hotel Berlin was pushed to its maximum capacity this year), The Intercontinental is located close to the Tiergarten and the Zoological Gardens in the heart of the city.

In line with the DA's stated desire to further internationalise the event, simultaneous translation of speaker presentations will be provided in English and the DA is also examining the possibility for translation into French, although this has yet to be finalised. D&Ri will report on the content of the programme nearer to the event.

The DA has also added English content to its website, www.deutscher-abbruchverband.de. To view the English, click the 'mehr' button at the bottom of the story you are interested in and a new window will open with the full story in German and English.
