Volvo Rents continued its North American acquisition spree last week with the acquisition of Nelico Equipment Service and Supplies, a three-branch rental business with locations in Mills, Rock Springs and Casper, Wyoming.

It is the ninth acquisition by Volvo Rents in North America since the start of the year and one of more than 50 it has made in the last 18 months. The company has embarked on a major rental growth in initiative in North America having initially tried to establish a rental franchise operation.

Nelico's Carl Nelson, who founded the company in 1994, will continue to take an active role in operations and management of the three locations as general manager, and all 30 Nelico employees will be employed by Volvo Rents.

"Volvo Rents is embarking on a significant expansion and I look forward to helping facilitate that growth", said Mr Nelson.

The acquisitions policy in North America is not being adopted in other markets like Europe, where rental operations are run by a mix of dealers and franchise partners.
