Wacker Neuson is adding an integrated operator's cab with four of its site dumpers, the 3, 6, 9 and 10 t models (3001, 6001, 9001 and 1001+).

The cab, which is supplied directly with the dumper from the Wacker factory, will add around €2500 to the cost of the unit and is a full ROPS, FOPS specified cab.

Stefan Wiesener, Wacker Neuson product manager for site dumpers, told IRN that the demand for the cabs was likely to be greatest in the UK, Spain and German-speaking countries, and not just for weather protection, but also to protect operators from dust and material thrown up from the load.

Mr Wiesener said the company anticipated that around 20-25% of dumpers will be sold with the integrated cabs. He acknowledged that rental companies may not be keen on the additional price; "We need to convince rental companies that with this cab machine they will have a better chance of winning business", he said.

Wacker Neuson used a recent press meeting in Munich to announce several other new compact and light equipment products, including a new 2.5 t mini excavator. More on these products in the November-December issue of IRN.
