A quintet of new heavy haul MAN tractors will join the Dutch transport and lifting specialist Wagenborg Nedlift’s fleet.

Gerard Bastiaansen, Wagenborg Nedlift general manager, signed the order for five new-model MAN TGX 6 x 4 tractors. Four units of the previous model have been operating in the fleet since 2019 and will be replaced by the new ones.

Good for heavy and long hauls

Wagenborg described the TGX 26.580 6x4 BL SA as a powerhouse. Its 15.2-litre D38 engine produces 427 kW (580 hp) and maximum torque is 2,900 Nm. “This makes them ideally suitable for challenging transports of heavy loads over long distances,” Wagenborg explained.

One application for these trucks is to haul ballast trailers carrying counterweight slabs for the company’s heavy lift cranes.

Sustainability has been fundamental to the Wagenborg Nedlift strategy for years, the company reported, hence these new MAN trucks with Euro 6 engines. Their MAN Tipmatic automatic transmissions will also help improve fuel economy over the trucks in the fleet they will replace.

The company expects to have the new trucks on the fleet around May 2023.
