Walker and Son Hauliers new Grove GMK4080-1

UK-based Walker and Son Hauliers has added a Manitowoc Grove GMK4080-1 all terrain crane to its growing rental fleet.

The crane joins other large Grove all terrains in the company's crane fleet, said Richard Walker, Walker and Sons managing director.

"We previously had the GMK4075, another Grove 4-axle all terrain crane, but the GMK4080-1 gives us more boom length. This will allow the crane to take on a wider range of jobs."

The GMK4080-1 has an 80 tonne capacity and a 51 m, six section boom. It also includes Manitowoc's Megatrak independent suspension system for better on-site manoeuvring. Other Grove cranes in the fleet include a GMK4100, GMK3055 and two GMK2035Es.

Since delivery in late March, the GMK4080-1 has been at work on a range of job sites, including general construction, power stations and coal mines.

Founded in 1954, Walker and Son Hauliers specializes in hauling, logistics, warehousing, machinery removal and crane hire. The company has 11 cranes in its rental fleet that operate from two locations in Nottinghamshire.
