Barin has sold a specialist underbridge inspection unit to German rental company Wemo-Tec GmbH. The new machine, the AB19/SDL, has a special set up sequence that ensures no part of the machine comes into contact with electric lines running under the bridge deck.

The additional illustrations attached to this story show the geometry of the triple-articulating boom, which allows the cage to be deployed in a vertical plane through the electric lines under the bridge.

Wemo-Tec, headquartered in Eichenzell and with branches in Weissenfels and Gross-Umstadt, has 300 underbridge inspection units in its fleet.

The AB19/SDL is manufactured in Italy and has been mounted on a Scania R400 LB 8x2 truck chassis supplied by Wemo-Tec.

The machine has a 4.6 m bridge barrier clearance and 4.6 m footpath clearance. There is a 19 m horizontal outreach under the bridge, which operates at a maximum vertical depth of 23 m.

The platform can also be deployed at a maximum overhead outreach of 23.4 m, and basket capacity is 300 kg.
