Western European construction equipment sales in 2004

According to off-highway research, sales of compact equipment – mini excavators, skid steer loaders and compact wheeled loaders – totalled 65294 units last year, and 55375 of these, or 85%, were sold in the ‘Big 5’ markets of France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.

Italy is by far the largest market for compact equipment in Europe, with sales of 28931 units last year, or 44% of the European total.
