Wiesbauer adds crawlers

German crane rental and transport company Wiesbauer has added a pair of new crawler cranes to its fleet.

Larger of the two Sennebogens is the 180 tonne capacity 5500 Star-Lifter and the other is a 125 tonne capacity 3300 Star-Lifter.

The larger crane went to work on the construction of a new logistics centre for Fressnapf Tiernahrungs in Feuchtwangen, Germany. General contractor on the Euro 16 million project is the Max Bögl Group. Starting in November, more than 100 trucks a day will be delivering from the new centre.

Wiesbauer rented the 5500 Star-Lifter, complete with driver, for the heavy lifting work on the new logistics centre. Configured with 29.9 m of main boom and the same length of luffing jib, it was used to position solid walls, main girders, frost barriers, supports and other heavy components. Some parts weighed more than 30 tonnes.
