Wilson Access Hire, part of the AFI group of companies, is undergoing a period of expansion, having nearly doubled its fleet and opening a second UK base, in Wakefield.

The company has purchased 13 new truck mounted platforms from Multitel, CTE, GSR and Palfinger, with a height range of between 20m and 45m. The investment brings the fleet number up to 28 machines.

Managing director Richard Saunders said, “Since AFI acquired Wilson Access just over a year ago we have expanded the business substantially. This has been mainly through demand from existing Wilson Access customers and customers of AFI, primarily in the telecoms, signage, window cleaning and pest control sectors.

“During the next two to three years we are planning to increase the Wilson Access fleet again to ensure that we can provide the right machine, in the right location, and with the level of service our customers have come to expect,” he added.
