World Demolition Awards set for Amsterdam return

14 December 2010

Following on from the success of the 2010 World Demolition Awards, held as part of the 2010 World Demolition Summit, their 2011 counterparts are set to return to the Dutch city of Amsterdam, once again during the first week of November 2011.

Initial plans are for the Awards to be held on 4 November, once again at the five star Hotel Okura in the city centre, again as part of the 2011 World Demolition Summit. This overall event will, in 2011, be again organised jointly by D&Ri publisher KHL Group and the European Demolition Association, subject to final agreement being reached between the two early next year.

The Summit will once again consist of the Awards gala dinner and a full one-day technical conference, the latter also being the EDA's Autumn conference event.

D&Ri editor Lindsay Gale said: "From the beginning, our intention was to establish the Summit, including the Awards, as one of the leading events for the global demolition industry. Although we did look at perhaps moving to another European city in 2011, the advantages offered by Amsterdam remain the same - a central location, easily reached from anywhere in the world, with venues that can successfully host a quality event. In addition, I am delighted that the signs are extremely good for another successful collaboration between KHL Group and the EDA. Together, I am convinced we will be able to deliver yet another major industry highlight in November 2011."

The process for submitting entries for the 2011 World Demolition Awards categories will be much as for the 2010 event, but full guidance will shortly be available to download from www.demolitionsummit.com, This site will also detail full information concerning the World Demolition Summit itself. So start work!
