Wynne Systems adopts ARA's new rental metrics

01 November 2011

Wynne Systems is to support the adoption of the American Rental Association's recently announced rental metrics by incorporating the metrics into its rental software.

The ARA's rental metrics are designed to provide an industry standard in the way that rental companies calculate and report their performance, covering metrics such as daily rental period, original equipment cost (OEC), time (physical) utilisation of equipment, financial utilisation, fleet age and percentage change in period‐over-period rental rates.

Wynne Systems said it was the first software provider in the equipment rental market to adopt ARA's metrics.

Michael Stilwagner, vice president of sales and marketing for Wynne Systems, said, "We are very excited about this groundbreaking opportunity to work with the ARA on a project of this scope and importance. The ARA Rental Market Metrics will benefit the entire rental industry as a credible method for documenting performance."

Christine Wehrman, chief executive officer of the ARA, said, "We are pleased about the adoption of ARA Rental Market Metrics by Wynne Systems.

"Standardising the methods that equipment rental companies use to calculate performance measures will advance individual businesses and industry performance in a consistent manner."
