Yanmar Europe promotes Peter Aarsen to VP

Japanese manufacturer Yanmar has promoted Peter Aarsen to the role of vice president of Yanmar Europe, effective January 1, 2013.
Mr Aarsen is promoted to his new role after serving five years with the company and he will share management responsibilities with current Yanmar Europe president Geert Jan Mantel. Mr Aarsen will also retain his position as president of Yanmar Marine International.
This appointment will help Yanmar to develop business opportunities in more countries and new market sectors.
“Peter and I will share management responsibilities, which will give Yanmar greater leeway to strengthen its position in the European and African markets and expand into new business sectors,” said Mantel.
Mr Aarsen brings to the role a background in engineering and working experience of the automotive industry. He joined Yanmar in the engineering department in 2007 and held several jobs until he became president of Yanmar Marine International.
Yanmar manufacture diesel engines and machinery for applications in construction, agriculture and industry. In Europe, Yanmar employs around 600 people and has annual sales of approximately €800 million.
