Ritchie Bros expands in Europe
Ritchie Bros held its first auction in Avignon, France, on 10 November and will return to Portugal for the first time in three years with an auction on Thursday 18 November in Tondela. The Tondela sale will be simultaneously broadcast at the Ritchie auction taking place on the same day in Ocana, near Madrid in Spain.
Mills Rental placed orders worth US$80 million in third quarter
The access and telehandler rental division of Mills Estuturas e Servicos de Engenharia in Brazil has placed orders worth US$80 million for additional equipment to the end of 2011. The investment will allow it to “meet the huge demand and to guarantee the expansion plan of the rental division”.
Bryan Rich joins SmartEquip board
US rental veteran Bryan Rich has joined SmartEquip as executive chairman. Mr Rich has a 30 year career in rental during which he held senior positions at companies including Logan Equipment, NationsRent and Sunbelt Rentals.

Dubai-based access rental company Manlift has opened a branch in New Delhi, India, to rent and sell aerial platforms. Manlift previously operated only in the Middle East where it has a fleet of around 1200 aerial platforms.
