The huge London 2012 International Broadcast Centre (IBC) is taking shape in the skyline with the 4500 tonne steel structure completed in just 10 weeks. The IBC, combined with the Main Press Centre (MPC), will support around 20000 broadcasters, photographers and journalist. In legacy it will create about 83600 m3 of business space with the potential to generate thousands of new jobs. The steel frame of the IBC is 275 m-long, 104 m-wide and 21 m-tall, big enough to house five jumbo jets.
