Al-Futtaim Carillion OCI JV to construct retail centre in Cairo Festival City

The Al-Futtaim Carillion/Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) Joint Venture has been awarded the contract to construct a US$ 340 million retail centre in Cairo Festival City.

The EGP 1.91 billion (US$ 340 million) contract was awarded by the commercial and administrative arm of the Al-Futtaim Group.

The retail centre includes 400 shopping units a hypermarket and cinema complex. It will also include a retail village, which will include a water amusement park, pedestrian walkways, cafes, restaurants as well as other retail shops.

The total built-up area of the project will be 425000 m2.

The project is expected to be complete by mid- 2012.
