China's Giant Hydraulic Breaker company used the BICES exhibition in China during November 2009 to show off its latest demolition robot, the GTC-45.

Based in the Anhui province, inland from Shanghai, Giant Hydraulic Breaker started out, as the name suggests, producing breakers. More recently the company produced its first demolition robot, the GTC650, after extensive site trials.

Now it has introduced the GTC-45 with an operating weight of 4,500 kg (9,900 lb). Fitted with hydraulic outriggers, the robot has a 30.5 kW engine and can reach to more than 6 m (20 ft) to the tool tip horizontally, to around 3 m (10 ft) down and more than 7 m (23 ft) up.
