Boels chooses SmartEquip technology

Netherlands-based equipment rental firm Boels has announced that it has joined the SmartEquip Network in Europe.
SmartEquip provides e-commerce links between fleet owners and suppliers to efficiently manage product support, parts ordering and procurement.
The news follows the earlier announcement that Ramirent is trialing the technology in Sweden.
Boels intends to use the SmartEquip technology to reduce the cost of servicing and maintaining its equipment fleet, as well as to carry out electronic purchasing of parts and other equipment-related items. Boels expects to go live with the technology later this year.
“By fleet value, more than half of our suppliers are already actively supporting their customers on the SmartEquip Network in North America", said Guy Cremer, manager of fleet operations.
"Over the past two years, we learned a great deal about how SmartEquip is used there, how it generates benefits not just for the equipment fleet owners, but also for the manufacturers and their dealers. We are now very much looking forward to sharing the same type of win-win partnership benefits with our suppliers in Europe”.
SmartEquip announced its expansion into Europe in January 2013, led by Dr Alexander Schuessler, who is the company founder and serves as president of its international group.
