Pon Equipment and Power has gone live with its new business application software in Denmark.

The Netherlands-based dealer of Caterpillar equipment has taken on enterprise solutions provider Infor’s new M3 for Equipment in a move that will see an international roll out of the new IT system across its Netherlands, Sweden and Norway operations.

The roll-out will be swift, with Pon Equipment Denmark fully transactional just two hours after going live, including customer orders, invoices and parts picking.

Göran Carlson, CEO of Pon Equipment and Power, anticipates a wide range of benefits from the new standardised system. “The key to realising this return on our investment is not only the industry-specific capabilities of Infor M3 but also our commitment to the programme.

"By the end of the project we will have more than 1500 users on M3, so we have made substantial investments in training throughout the company and will learn a great deal from this initial implementation.”

Infor M3 is designed for companies that make, move or maintain products. The multi-country, multi-lingual and multi-currency application will help Pon manage orders, inventory and customer enquiries, including its equipment rental businesses.

Warren Smith, Infor's strategy director, Equipment, said the M3 solution was becoming the preferred platform for Caterpillar dealers.
