UK rental company A-Plant said it would now offer GPS technology manufacturer Topcon’s site surveying and machine control equipment through its nationwide network.

The companies said the new strategic partnership would mean that customers could use A-plant as a one-stop-shop for site survey, setting out and machine control instrumentation.

A-plant has been offering Topcon survey kits for rental from its Survey Hire Express division for the past 18 months.

Topcon channel development manager Simon Crowhen said, “It’s a logical progression for A-plant’s customers to be able to hire our survey and machine control instruments from one place.

"This includes our 3D GPS machine control for dozers and excavators, as well as base station hire. As the partnership grows, more will be added to the range available via A-plant.”

The companies added that the Topcon/A-plant partnership also included training provision for A-plant staff, while A-plant’s customers would have access to Topcon’s services for equipment installation and support.

“This will still be carried out by Topcon’s specialist staff,” said Ashley Mills, business development manager for A-plant’s Survey Hire Express division.

“We’ve invested heavily in establishing first a survey division and then extending this to include machine control systems.

"Topcon is a very well established name in site instrumentation equipment; highly regarded for the quality of its products and for the level of site support the company provides. It made perfect sense to establish a strategic partnership with Topcon.”
