Taiwanese turbine project for A2Sea

Danish offshore wind installation and service provider A2Sea has been awarded a contract to install two foundations and turbines for the Taiwanese Formosa 1 project.

The contract is to install and two 4 MW Siemens turbines. A2Sea will begin work on the Taiwanese project Formosa 1 for Swancor/Formosa Wind Power Co from June 2016. The company will install the two foundations and turbines using the vessel M/V Torben.

The Formosa 1 offshore wind farm will have a total of 32 turbines. The second phase is due to be carried out in 2018 and 2019.

The Formosa 1 offshore wind farm is expected to deliver its first electricity by the end of 2016 providing green energy to the Taiwanese electricity grid.
