Biggest ever flat top crane from Wolffkran

Germany-based crane manufacturer Wolffkran presented its latest flat top tower crane that is its biggest to date. The Wolff 7534 is the latest addition to the clear range after the manufacturer released its first XL flat top crane, the Wolff 7032 clear, at Bauma 2013. The 7534 extends the clear series into the 315 tonne range, the company said.

Ulrich Dörzbach, managing director and head of research and development at Wolffkran, spoke about the model, "Easy to assemble, space-saving, powerful and economical. Although it is our largest crane without a tower top section, the Wolff 7534 clear offers all the advantages of a flat top construction and is perfect for inner-city construction sites that require space-saving solutions, up to date assembly concepts and quick turnaround times."

The new trolley jib crane is available in two versions: the 7534.8 clear is a double-reeved crane with a capacity of 8.5 tonnes and the 7534.16 clear, which can be reeved in 2- or 4-fall operation, with a capacity of 16.5 tonnes, explained Wolffkran. The maximum tip load at 75 metres jib radius is 3.4 tonness in 2-fall operation.

Coinciding with its comeback in the USA, the company has also showcased US versions of the proven luffing cranes Wolff 355 B and 700 B.

Peter Schiefer, Wolffkran CEO and owner, gave his thoughts on this year's Bauma. "Since the last show the markets have recovered in a significant way but when will the party end? The last three years have been very profitable for us - 2015 was one of the best years that Wolffkran has ever had. Our acquisition of HTC last May was another step to becoming one of the largest tower crane manufacturers and rental companies in the world. When we were planning for 2016 back in November, we were cautious and lowered our expectationsfor the coming year. But just three weeks later we were overwhelmed with orders running until August of this year. What did we miss? Reading the market is very difficult."

He continued, "So far at this Bauma, we have seen visitors to our stand primarily from Europe, Asia and a few from the Americas. Right now, I can already say that we've had a very successful Bauma. If the interest in Wolffkran extends until Friday it will be overwhelming."
