Lake District Estates has invested in its first aerial work platform to help maintain its properties at one of the UK’s most popular tourist destinations.

The 12.2m working height Niftylift TD120T track mounted platform was delivered to the company’s Singleton Park maintenance depot in Kendal, based in the heart of the Lake District National Park.

The equipment was recommended to the estate by access equipment industry pioneer Paul Adorian, founder of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), after his wife, The Hon. Ruth Adorian, director of Lake District Estates, spotted a need among the workforce.

As originally published on local news website Cumbria Crack, Mr Adorian commented, “Given my long history in the aerial platform industry, I am personally delighted to see this type of equipment utilised within maintenance scenarios.

"It will enable maintenance workers to safely reach positions at which they need to carry out repairs and avoid any possibility of injuries caused by falling off ladders, or ladder slippage. I hope other businesses will follow and consider introducing this type of equipment.”

Lake District Estates chairman Peter Hensman, added, “The purchase of this equipment demonstrates our commitment to health and safety and our efforts to keep all our employees, and others who work at our various locations, safe.”
