UK-based Mr Plant Hire has taken delivery of its fourth Sterling plant body, fitted to a Renault 8x2 rear lift and steer chassis, bringing its delivery fleet to six vehicles.

In this case, it represents the company’s first 32 tonne vehicle, enabling the transport of new heavier platforms, previously not possible, such as its recently purchased JLG 660SJ's and 18m Manitou telescopic telehandlers. It can also carry a greater number of smaller machines on a single load.

The body includes non-slip Gridlock flooring and the vehicle is fully FORS Gold compliant, featuring the safety cameras and other systems required to protect cyclists and pedestrians.

Tony Crawford, Mr Plant Hire director and Access Alliance chairman said, “We have used Sterling for several years now. They are very innovative and for example the Gridlock decking is very popular with the drivers, as loading is so much safer.”
